Dr. Vimal Viswanathan is an Associate Professor in Mechanical 工程, currently serving as the Department Chair. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical 工程 from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India. He graduated with MSME 和Ph值.D. degrees in Mechanical 工程 (with a focus on product 设计) from 德克萨斯州的一个&米大学. His research interests include product 设计, new product development, 设计 creativity, 设计 automation, additive manufacturing, mechanical systems 设计, and engineering education. He has published over 50 refereed articles to date. He was also previously awarded four federal grants related to engineering education.
Purpose Statement
The MSPC provides students with equipment and tools to enable them to fabricate physical artifacts in a safe manner during their program of study in the department. 在这里, students have to the opportunity to put into practice invaluable skills in 设计 and manufacturing that provide them with a foundation of knowledge and experience to prepare them for their future careers.
